About UrbanID
Identity is infrastructure. Its design deserves care.
UrbanID Global is an identity engineering and advisory organisation working across national identity architecture, credentials, mobile identity and digital trust.
Our work connects policy, technical architecture and operational responsibility.
Digital identity systems shape access to public services, financial services and cross-border transactions. They must reconcile inclusion, privacy, security, accountability and interoperability under real institutional constraints.
UrbanID works with public institutions and regulated organisations to define those constraints and turn them into system architectures, implementation profiles and engineering plans. The work can begin with strategy or technical due diligence and extend into credential, wallet, verification and trust infrastructure.
How we approach the work
- Start with institutionsIdentify the issuing authorities, data controllers, operators, relying parties and the decisions each is entitled to make.
- Design for boundariesSeparate identity proofing, credential issuance, wallet operation, verification and trust-list responsibilities.
- Use standards preciselySelect versions and implementation profiles deliberately; test protocol semantics rather than rely on labels.
- Plan for operationsInclude key management, revocation, support, change control and incident handling in the architecture.

Official marks identify the Alliance and standard. Their display does not claim OSIA product qualification.
Tunji Durodola, Founder and Chief Executive of UrbanID Global, is an active Secure Identity Alliance member. The Alliance lists him as lead for its UIN and Tokenisation and EUDI Wallet working groups. SIDI Hub also lists Tunji as a co-chair of a workstream. These are individual standards and ecosystem roles; they are not a certification or government appointment held by UrbanID.

OSIA and the engineering of interoperability.
The Secure Identity Alliance’s OSIA (Open Standards Identity API) initiative defines open interfaces for connecting identity-system components. ITU-T Recommendation X.1281 specifies APIs for interoperability of identity management systems and was twinned with OSIA v6.1.0. The OSIA project has since published v7.2, so a programme must name the exact interface release it will implement rather than assume version equivalence. Existing registries, enrolment, biometrics, credentials and relying-party services need explicit interfaces, security scopes and operational ownership.
UrbanID’s advisory work covers system and API mapping, governed integration architecture, interface and data-contract definition, migration sequencing, authorisation boundaries and conformance testing. We help programme owners assess where open interfaces can reduce technology dependence while preserving national control. We do not claim ownership of OSIA or certification against it.

Tunji Durodola
Founder and Chief Executive of UrbanID Global. The SIA and SIDI Hub roles above describe his individual contribution and are presented separately from UrbanID’s consulting work.
Tunji’s earlier individual work as a systems integrator and technical consultant to Nigeria’s National Identity Management Commission is reported in a 2024 ThisDay interview. That professional history is distinct from evidence of an UrbanID corporate contract or current government engagement.
